History and mission

The Department‘s mission is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of Veterinary Medicine

History of the Department-The department was established in 1935 by the Honored scientist, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor H. Sh.Almeev, who was a student of the largest pathologist K. G. Bol, the creator of the Kazan School of Pathologists.

In different years, they headed and worked at the department of Professor H. Sh.Almeev, N. G. Tolstova-Pariyskaya, Professor V. M. Mitrofanov, K. S.Arbaev, A. Sh.Irgashev, Associate Professor V. A. Adutskevich, N. S.Aldayarov

Since 2014, the department has been headed by an associate ProfessorAzhybekov B. S.

The department teaches the following subjects: cytology, histology and embryology, pathological anatomy and autopsy with forensic veterinary examination, veterinary and sanitary examination and food safety and the basics of pathology.

The discipline of animal cytology, histology and embryology was once a separate department headed by Professor O. N. Vinogradova, a pupil of the Kazan School of Veterinary Morphologists (1935-1952). This discipline was taught by associate professors T. M.Mukanbaev, V. M. Steshenko, S. D.Tulegenov, N. A. Neumyvakina, N. S.Aldayarov and Professor K. S.Arbaev, currently this discipline is taught by associate Professor B. S.Azhybekov and I.O. Associate Professor M. M.Amirakulov.

The disciplines of pathological anatomy, autopsy and forensic veterinary examination were taught by professors H. Sh.Almeev, N. G. Tolstova-Pariyskaya, V. M. Mitrofanov, associate professors V. A. Adutskevich, V. M. Steshenko, N. M. Yartsev, assistants L. F. Rubtsova, R. P.Radionova, A. G. Ivanov. This discipline was taught and is still taught by Professor K. S.Arbaev, A. Sh.Irgashev, associate professors B. S.Azhybekov, L. Yu. Lykhina, S. N.Ishenbayeva.

The course of veterinary and sanitary expertise was taught by associate professors A. I.Genis, K. U. Bularkiev and Professor A. Sh.Irgashev. Currently, this discipline is taught by and.about. Associate Professor R. K.КарабаеваS. G. Karabaeva, Senior LecturerTuratov., assistants K. S.Kurmanaliev G. Zh.Zhunusbekov.

Since 2017 , a specialization in veterinary and sanitary expertise and food safety has been opened with the following disciplines::

– Veterinary sanitation in animal husbandry

– Veterinary and sanitary expertise of seafood, fish and bees

– Food safety of milk and dairy products

– Food safety of meat and meat products

– Veterinary and sanitary control in food production

– Veterinary and sanitary control during import and export

Employees of the department from 1936 to 2021 defended 9 doctoral theses and 28 PhD theses, including 7 on biological code and 21 on veterinary.

During the existence of the department, 10 monographs and 6 reference dictionaries on zoo pathology, a short reference dictionary on veterinary pathology, and a biological and veterinary reference dictionary (thesaurus) have been published.

Currently, the department’s staff is studying the following problems of veterinary medicine and biology:

Normal pulmomorphology yaks, sheep, and birds.
Pathological pulmomorphology of pulmonary adenomatosis, maedi, non-specific bronchopneumonia of sheep, animal tumors.
Scientific problems of forensic veterinary expertise are being studied.

Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor K. S.Arbayev is a member of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Over the past 6 years, the department’s staff has given more than 100 reviews and 20 oppositions of dissertations and scientific papers.

The results of scientific research are implemented in production, in the educational process and are used in the diagnosis of animal diseases, there are 2 patents (A. Sh.Irgashev and his students).

Over the past 6 years, the department’s staff has published more than 40 scientific articles in journals of near and far abroad (Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany and Switzerland).

COOPERATION OF THE DEPARTMENT WITH FARMS, VETERINARY CLINICS, MUNICIPAL MARKETS, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES VETERINARY INSTITUTIONS

The department has a close relationship with production on the basis of a contract and agreement drawn up by them to conduct laboratory and practical classes and scientific research. Such farms include SC “Vetka”, Uchkhoz KNAU Veterinary clinics “Animal Planet”, “Kyrgys vetservice”, e.t.c., the Bishkek markets “Osh”, “Orto-Saisky”, “Alamudunsky”, besides, it works closely with the state veterinary inspection, veterinary diagnostic and expertise center for the northern region.

THE DEPARTMENT TRAINS STUDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING SUBSPECIALTIES:

– Veterinary sanitation in animal husbandry

Goal: to train specialists who know how to work safely in livestock farms

– Veterinary sanitary expertise of seafood, fish and bees

Goal: training of specialists defining food safety of fish and hydrobionts as perishable products and solving the issue of realization, processing or utilization, expertise of bee products – defining the quality of products as nutritious and medicinal raw material, solving the issue of falsification

– Food safety of milk and milk products

Goal: determination of possible infection in milk and milk products (brucellosis, Escherichia coli, etc.), determination of quality and safety at all stages of production and sale

– Food safety of meat and meat products

Goal: definition of quality of production, exclusion of meat products with pathogenic microflora, helminthic diseases in larval stage, control of storage conditions, exclusion of products with defamatory features in trade network or public catering

– Veterinary and sanitary control in food production

Goal: to train specialists in laboratory methods of determining the quality of products at the stages of production.

– Veterinary sanitary control at import and export

Goal: elimination of penetration of low-quality products and introduction of infections
