The department of normal anatomy of domestic animals was organized in 1933 at the Kyrgyz Zooveterinary Institute by professor B.A.Dombrovsky, associate professor V.V. Kolesnikov and assistants F.M. Mukhambetaliev and G.K. Konakbaev invited from Almaty. Her museum preparations and visual aids were collected in 1935-1937 by professor M.G.Efereev.
The department of physiology of farm animals was organized by Professor A.A. Morozov (1936-1980).
Then the Department was headed by docent. G.I.Chepurnykh, Prof. B.I.Tsvetkov, Prof. V.V.Alexandrovskiy (1939-1952) and from 1952 Prof. A.F.Khanzhin worked in this position for 20 years. Original and coordinate methods developed by him were successfully used in scientific research not only in anatomy, but also in organ topography and surgery. From 1972 to 1985 the Department was headed by docent. V.A. Leleka.
Later the department was connected with obstetrics and was called a department of anatomy and obstetrics – headed by Professor E.K. Ibragimov (1985-1991), with physiology – headed by Professor I.F. Suleymanov (1991-1995). D., and A.Z. Tulobayev (1995-1998) with, pathological anatomy department of animal morphology and pathology – headed by Professor K.S. Arbaev (1998-2002) and Professor A.S. Irgashev (2002-2003), and since 2003 again with physiology department of anatomy and physiology.
In 2003-2008 the department was headed by Professor, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences A.Z. Tulobaev. He proposed a scientific direction in the field of morphometry, functional morphology, ontogenesis and physiology of animals and birds. Under his scientific leadership, the morphofunctional characteristic of postnatal ontogenesis of the Kyrgyz chicken breed was studied and developed. The results of research are summarized in the PhD dissertations Y. T. Begaliev, MA Kichinebatyrova, T. K. Yrsaliev, A. K. Madumarov. A.Z. Tulobayev published over 130 scientific and educational works. Including 1 monograph, 2 textbooks, 2 brochures, 10 guidelines and recommendations, and 2 inventions with a patent.
Since 2008, the department has been headed by Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Y. T. Begaliev. In addition to scientific and research work, he carries out a number of organizational activities of the anatomical museum with new preparations.
