The Department of Obstetrics and Surgery was organized in 1935 and one of the organizers of the department was Professor Ya.G. Gubarevich.
From 1937 to 1957, the department was headed by Professor V.A. Akatov, who, after defending his doctoral dissertation, left for the Voronezh Veterinary Institute. The lecturing was entrusted to his student E.K. Ibragimov, who in 1958 became a Ph.D., and later an associate professor, D.V.N., professor. E.K. Ibragimov from 1957 to 1958 headed the joint department and at the same time until 1983 was the vice-rector for scientific work of the Institute. Under his leadership, Aknazarov B.K. defended his doctoral dissertation (2001).
Aknazarov B.K. was awarded the Silver Medal of the USSR VDNH for his achievements in the development of agricultural science. Under the guidance of Professor E.K. Ibragimov, A.A. Amanturov, M.I. Jorobekov, M.E. Ibragimov defended their PhD theses. For his services in the field of veterinary education and science, E.K. Ibragimov was awarded the title “Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic”. Associate Professor M.A. Iskembayev has been working at the department for many years, who has been deputy dean, acting dean for a number of years. In different years, associate professors M.E. Ibragimov, V.D. Yatsenko, senior lecturer E.A. Abdyraimov worked at the department. Associate Professor N.T. Kholodkov taught courses in obstetrics, gynecology and artificial insemination of agricultural animals.
An experienced teacher P.A. Popov taught at the department from 1948 to 1975. Associate Professor P.I. Kovalev took part in the creation of the Department of Surgery.
Then it was headed by Associate Professor N.A. Azbukin (1936-1941), and from 1946 to 1980 Professor S.I. Ivanov. He simultaneously, for many years, combined the position of vice-rector of the Agricultural Institute for the academic part. After the war, until 1952, two departments were formed from this department: operative surgery and general and private surgery with orthopedics. One of them was headed by Prof. A.F. Khanzhin until 1952, then moved to the Department of Anatomy and Gynecology. After the death of S.I. Ivanov since 1980, the department was headed by a student of Professor A.F. Khanzhina associate professor M.A.
Dzhantemirov. Professor S.I. Ivanov worked for the deans of the faculty for many years, he had numerous state awards for his services in personnel training.
In recent years, the teachers of the department have published more than 400
scientific articles, 45 methodological guidelines, 4 teaching manuals, 6
recommendations, 2 monographs and received 11 copyright certificates (patents).
Within the framework of the agreement between Konkuk University, (South
Korea) and K.I. Scriabin KNAU, a scientific study is being conducted on the
cultivation and distribution in all regions of the republic of Korean meat and egg
chickens of the Hankhyap – 3 direction under the guidance of Associate Professor
N.M. Myrzakanov.
Under the guidance of Professor B.K. Aknazarov, scientific research is being
conducted to develop comprehensive measures for the prevention of pathology
of the breast and reproductive organs in cows in Kyrgyzstan. A new obstetric
classification of physiological conditions of reproductive females of cattle has
been developed. He has published more than 130 scientific papers, including 3
textbooks, 1 monograph, 2 reference books, 7 brochures, more than 18 teaching
guidelines and scientific recommendations. He has 2 patents for new inventions,
has developed two new veterinary drugs (ethonopolycillin, bioproethon) and
instructions for their use and 4 innovation proposals.
